      CSL Vifor, a world leading Nephrology, Iron Deficiency and Cardio-Renal pharmaceutical company, is experiencing rapid growth due to pipeline realization and optimization. As such we are looking to expand our Irish Medical Affairs team with the addition of a Field Medical advisor to support development and commercialization of our products on the Island of Ireland across our whole specialty medicine portfolio.

      Reporting into the medical lead for IRE/NI You will have demonstrable experience in the field as a medical science liaison or field based medical advisor and have the ability to quickly build relationships with HCP and KOL within specific TA and work collaboratively with local Sales and Marketing as well as colleagues at our Global HQ in Zurich.

      • Knowledge and interpretation of the IPHA Code of Practice as demonstrated in the copy approval process and day to day activities
      • Delivery on medical KPIs aligned to medical plan for therapy area
      • Quality of scientific information provided to external and internal stakeholders

      Responsibilities

      • Initiate and maintain strong and credible relationships with healthcare community, including scientific experts and academic centres in the therapy area across the country
      • Participate in the development of the Medical Affairs Plans and implement tactics that align with the Company’s therapeutic areas of interest.
      • Department to provide fair, balanced, non-promotional and unbiased medical and scientific assistance in relation to specific requests from healthcare professionals (HCPs) for further information on our product portfolio, clinical development program, or disease area(s) of interest.
      • Function in a non-promotional capacity 100% of the time spent in the role
      • Support the Medical Lead and facilitate the delivery of data generation activities (phase I -III), including the identification of suitable research projects, research centres, investigators and innovative methods to generate data.
      • Work cross functionally and undertake the delivery of specific (or assist the delivery of) projects in the medical plan e.g. clinical trials, early access strategies, guideline and policy work, symposia, advice seeking activities, medical education initiatives.
      • Initiates and runs scientific meetings and 1:1 KOL meetings on a local level
      • Act as a medical resource for the company working with the local cross functional team to support company products or therapeutic area
      • Support the development and implementation of medical education programmes across therapy areas
      • Provides medical/scientific support and training for internal staff and vendors
      • Maintenance of own medical and scientific knowledge
      • Adherence to own professional Codes of Practice and engagement with accreditation / revalidation processes as required

      Competencies

      • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal, relationship building and negotiation communication skills together with the ability to provide clear and concise moderately complex analysis of quantitative and qualitative concepts
      • Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as part of a brand team, and show awareness of the medical role within a brand team
      • Must have an understanding of local Ireland compliance and regulatory requirements, and preferably demonstrate an understanding of the materials sign- off process
      • Must possess excellent analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and understand moderately complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to Medical, Sales and Marketing
      • Must be able to utilize moderately complex scientific resources for presentations in a variety of different settings
      • Must be able to work with a level of autonomy and independence. This role will be field (>50%) or home based.
      • Preferably have a knowledge of Irish industry/market for at least two years within a medical affairs environment
      • Please note that this role involves approximately 10% international travel, 40% office based and 50% national field based travel

      Requirements

      • Qualified pharmacist or PhD
      • Prior industry experience in medical affairs a nice to have but not essential
      • A strong scientific background in medical and biological science is essential
      • Understanding of the wider Irish healthcare environment
      • Knowledge of Nephrology therapeutic area is preferable someone able to handle multiple tasks at once, and is detailed orientated
      • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload.

      • Independent, self-driven, proactive and dynamic, you are engaged and motivated personality and willing to improve patient experience
      • Strong presentation and networking skills
      • Experience in working as part of a brand team in a Medical Affairs business environment.
      • Understanding of legislative requirements for the Pharmaceutical Industry.
