The Opportunity: We have an amazing team waiting for you, as a Field Operator, in our Red Deer district area! As the succesfull candidate, you will spend majority of your time in the field working in a dynamic environment as a key member of a cross-functional team and with continuous adherence to Canadian Natural’s Mission Statement. You will be responsible for operations and maintenance of oil field operation/plant operations with minimal supervision and optimize wells in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner. Key Accountabilities: - Operate and maintain central production facilities, water injection pumps, related equipment and various utility support systems including pumpjacks, booster compressors, and chemical injection equipment - Complete routine duties which include as gas engine checks, hydraulic checks, production books, change and zero charts, routine compressor checks, and various other routine checks. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of equipment including compressors, pump jacks and process equipment - Expert Knowledge on plant and field operating procedures, piping and equipment layout, valve locations and process flows - Test and monitor gas and oil wells using correct procedures - Identify deficiencies and recommend correction to existing procedures to ensure the assigned field area meets performance standards - Plan and coordinate the work of contract and maintenance crews Other Details: - Job location: Rocky Mountain House, AB- The successful applicant will be expected to live in the Rocky Mountain House area (75km radius) - Shift schedule: 8 x 6, 10 hour days- The field operator is expected to remain on-call during off hours, as requested, to provide off-hour coverage for facilities - This is a safety sensitive position and requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license Skills & Qualifications: - Grade 12 or GED is required - Preference will be given to candidates who have completed technical training including , but not limited to GPO and PFO courses, engineering tech diploma’s or degrees and journeyperson certifications - Minimum of 6 years of previous experience in field or plant operations preferred - Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and handling repetitive activities such as bending, climbing, twisting, kneeling and sitting.
