      The role:

      If you enjoy working independently in an outdoor environment, then this is the job for you! Join a team of physically fit individuals who are responsible for the accurate readings of residential and commercial electric and water meters.

      Major Responsibilities:

      • Accurately read all residential and commercial electric and water meters.

      • Check and report on damaged or faulty meters.

      • Report any electric or water theft.

      • Maintain control of customers’ keys for access into residential and commercial properties.

      • Refer customer complaints to Supervisor.

      • Show customers how to read meters.

      • Leave customer reading card when reading is unobtainable.

      • Security and proper handling of a $6000 minicomputer used in the field for meter readings.

      • Ensure larger commercial meters are resealed each month.

      • Complete statistical information on the day’s activities, including number of reads taken and number of kilometers driven.

      Qualifications & Experience:

      • A valid Class 5, Graduated Alberta Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and has their own vehicle.

      • Professional appearance, physically fit and able to complete daily routes.

      • Proven record of safe work practices.

      • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

      • Basic knowledge and application of computer skills.

      • Previous meter reading experience would be an asset.

      • Experience working within a safety sensitive role would be an asset.

      • General knowledge of City of Calgary would be an asset.

      • Goal-oriented and ability to stay motivated with minimum supervision.

      • Enjoys working outside in the Calgary weather.

      Salary: Field Representative Level A (Current CUPE 2024 rates)

      $60,803.47 - $64,592.53 - $68,401.42 - $72,190.48 - $75,999.38
