      Prepare to start your career at the worlds leading laser manufacturer. Laser knowledge is not a requirement. Position is 100% travel. We are looking for a motivated/curious engineer who is ready to learn and eventually be the point person in Canada for all TRUMPF equipment. Independence is key as you will be reporting to our office in Plymouth Michigan.

      SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:

      • Support TRUMPF customers in North America as a part of the technical service group
      • Participate in training lasting approximately 1-2 months with on-going training on existing and new products each year.
      • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality
      • Demonstration and education of lasers and systems to customers and associates
      • Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training
      • Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues
      • Communicate directly with customers regarding applications and optics/sensors technology
      • Routine communication with Product/Integration group and Laser Application group regarding new applications/customer projects
      • Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers
      • Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for trouble shooting
      • Demonstration and education of lasers and systems to customers and associates
      • Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required, as a part of rotating on-call support

      TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

      • Must be located, or ability to relocate, within 45 minutes of a major International Airport
      • Based out of Plymouth, MI (TUSD) Travel
      • 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically
      • Includes company paid- room, rental car, air-fare, and meal per diem
      • Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday
      • Some weekend work as needed, roughly 10-15 weekends a year
      • Company car provided

      REQUIREMENTS:

      • Ability to lift and transport up to 70 lbs. Education & Experience
      • Two-year technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or combination of training and work experience
      • 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required • Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills
      • Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics required.
      • Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools required
      • Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
