Job Description

- Support TRUMPF customers in North America as a part of the technical service group
- Participate in training lasting approximately 1-2 months with on-going training on existing and new products each year.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality
- Demonstration and education of lasers and systems to customers and associates
- Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training
- Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues
- Communicate directly with customers regarding applications and optics/sensors technology
- Routine communication with Product/Integration group and Laser Application group regarding new applications/customer projects
- Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers
- Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for trouble shooting
- Demonstration and education of lasers and systems to customers and associates
- Provide on-call 24/7 telephone support as required, as a part of rotating on-call support
- Must be located, or ability to relocate, within 45 minutes of a major International Airport
- Based out of Plymouth, MI (TUSD) Travel
- 100% travel required, both internationally and domestically
- Includes company paid- room, rental car, air-fare, and meal per diem
- Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday
- Some weekend work as needed, roughly 10-15 weekends a year
- Company car provided
- Ability to lift and transport up to 70 lbs. Education & Experience
- Two-year technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or combination of training and work experience
- 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required • Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills
- Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics required.
- Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools required
- Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
