      Job Title: Field Service Representative

      Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

      Division Specific Information

      As part of the Instrument and Enterprise Services team (ULS brand), you have the opportunity to join a community of field service representatives who have strong customer relationships and confirmed technical knowledge within our ULS division.

      How you will make an impact!

      We enable you to work autonomously and provide field service support to many different customers while developing your professional skills at the same time.

      What you will do:

      • Repair, install, and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment products including incubators, centrifuges, water systems, cold storage (refrigerators and freezers) and other equipment as needed.
      • Schedule and complete detailed preventative maintenance service to assure peak runtime.
      • Understand customers’ needs to best promote service contracts, services, and new equipment.
      • Submit expenses and handle spare part’s inventory in a timely and accurate manner.
      • Document daily service actions through the company work order database.
      • Maintains professional and knowledgeable communication with customer to ensure alignment of all aspects of the service event (status, cost, scheduling, etc.).
      • Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards for the calibration and certification of customer equipment.
      • Accept training on various equipment and product lines to provide stellar service to our customers.
      • Work well with numerous manufacturers for day to day warranty related instrument service.

      How will you get here?

      Education

      • Minimum requirement is post-secondary school diploma in electronics engineering.

      Required experience

      • 2 years of experience in field service position.
      • Knowledge and experience working with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, temperature devices, etc..
      • Shown proficiency in multiple vendor product lines.

      Preferred experience

      • Five plus years in a similar position.
      • Dedication to delivering excellent customer service skills.
      • Strong electronic/electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

      • Requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
      • Mentor and train other colleagues with difficult service calls that require technical expertise.
      • Operate computers, smartphones and related software efficiently.
      • Work independently diagnosing and solving problems with schematics, diagrams, service manuals and other user documentation.
      • Support colleagues across region and country when required.

      Work Environment

      • Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance, and carry 25-30 pounds continuously throughout the day.
      • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
      • Drive daily to customer sites within a territory, using a fleet vehicle.
      • Some overnight travel will be required.
      • Have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
      • Ability to travel internationally for training (passport required or appropriate work visa).
