      Job Summary
      Manages all day-to-day operational activities at a location to assure traffic handling and related activities are accomplished in an efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner. Supports and enhances the service necessary to meet prescribed marketing objectives within established budget. Leads CSX Intermodal in delivering services that meet or exceed customer expectations in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.

      Primary Activities and Responsibilities

      • Leadership and accountability for setting policy, processes and procedures that lead to a safe and effective operation.
      • Ensure that train plan and terminal plan are in harmony to minimize arrival to spot times on inbound trains, maintain sufficient time to efficiently load all outbound cargo and make on time releases of outbound train, and reduce the amount of unproductive track time.
      • Leadership over facilities maintenance, upgrades, and updates in accordance with CSX rules and guidelines.
      • Determine sufficient staffing levels and establish schedules to maximize the use of clerical and contract employees.
      • Determine training requirements and implement training of all new employees and recurrent training for all other employees and contractors.
      • Ensure adherence to all CSX Intermodal safety and environmental policies.
      • Ensure all necessary departments of CSX intermodal are informed of all terminal needs and special conditions (daily updates if necessary).
      • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Associates Degree/2-year Degree
      • 3 or more years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management

      Equivalent Qualifications

      • High School Diploma/GED
      • 5 or more years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Bachelors Degree
      • 3 or more years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management

      Knowledge and Skills

      • Knowledge of industry safety policies and practices
      • Knowledge of Intermodal customer base and market environment
      • Knowledge of Intermodal facility and infrastructure management
      • Knowledge of mainframe and personal computer (PC) software applications
      • Knowledge of terminal operating budget development and execution
      • Ability to communicate with a broad range of audiences
      • Ability to demonstrate analytical skills and act as an effective change agent
      • Ability to generate results in a leadership position

      Job Requirements

      • Different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation (incl working weekends)
      • May be required to complete a background check
      • Wear protective equipment (such as welding shields, hard hat, hearing protection)
      • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week)
      • Travel up to 25%
