      • Within Raytheon’s Quality & Mission Assurance organization, Supplier Quality Assurance works with the global supply base consisting of more than 8,000 active suppliers, to ensure parts manufactured for Raytheon’s products meet stringent US Department of Defense and international customer requirements.
      • Fielded Quality Engineers travel regularly to our most critical suppliers to ensure quality requirements for purchase parts are understood and met, to investigate nonconformances, and to work with suppliers on process improvements.
      • At Raytheon, you will work with a team of exceptional Quality Professionals in support of the Warfighter by ensuring the quality of our products and helping to save lives in the military theatre of operations. We have some of the best Quality Engineers in the industry and are always looking to add more talent.
      • Communicate requirements and performance feedback to suppliers as well as being a conduit for Quality information back to internal functions.
      • The role includes execution of Supplier Assessments, Supplier Engagements, Special Process Management and Contract Review/Requirement Flowdowns.
      • Ensure that our supply base meets Raytheon’s flowdown quality requirements prior to shipment.
      • Work proactively with suppliers and program contacts to identify risk mitigation strategies for critical suppliers, review product for conformance, deploy third party resources where appropriate, and actively participate in RCCA and supplier improvement engagements.

      What You Will Do:

      This is a remote assignment that will work across all Engineering disciplines in support of supplier awareness and enhancement, and to investigate supplier performance issues. Specific focus:

      • Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives.
      • Monitoring assigned suppliers’ performance and proactively addressing gaps to 100% quality.
      • Collaborating with programs and suppliers to understand requirements, develop and implement performance improvement plans, incorporate quality improvement tools, and mitigate risk.
      • Planning and performing Source Inspections and verifying AS9102 First Article Inspections and product acceptance testing.
      • Providing oversight, guidance, and direction to contracted 3rd-party source inspectors.
      • Leading Quality Management System (QMS) Audits and product and process verification assessments to assess supplier capabilities and achieve action closure.
      • Participating in supplier design reviews and problem resolution during program design and execution phases.
      • The FSQE role typically requires proficiency with SAP (PRISM), ETQ (formerly RCAS), SharePoint, and SHARP. The FSQE is expected to be able to navigate Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • The FSQE travels as much as 75% per week, though up to 50% is the expectation.
      • The Field Supplier Quality Engineer must live in or adjacent to the location of Nevada or Colorado and within 50 miles of a major international airport.
      • Travel to support suppliers in the western states (CA, OR, WA, NV, AZ, UT, ID,MT, etc.) is required as needed.

      What You Will Learn:

      This role will provide you with exposure to all engineer disciplines, including Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, and Energetics, as well as an Operations view on the different manufacturing line formats, such as work cell, linear, job shop, and with various amounts of automation sprinkled across.

      Qualifications You Must Have

      • Minimum of 8 years experience in Quality Engineering
      • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior experience in Quality or Supplier Management.
      • Experience with commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards - AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145.
      • Experience with Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), Printed Wire Board (PWB), Wire/Cable Harnesses, Transformers, Electrical Items, Complex Assemblies, and/or Machining.
      • Experience in quality planning, supplier product inspections, and supplier monitoring and improvement skills: APQP, PPAP, SPC, RCCA, Process FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.
      • Valid US Driver’s License.
      • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

      Qualifications We Prefer

      • Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
      • Proven successes in building and maintaining balanced relationships with multiple suppliers / customers and Raytheon functional entities
      • Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery
      • General Statistical Process Control knowledge, including implementation
      • General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies
      • General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)

      The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
