Job Description
- Req#: 5264
- Primary liaison between customer and engineering to address compatibility issues
- Quickly assess compatibility issues at a site and provide feedback to engineering for immediate resolution
- Work closely with our sales organization to identify new construction applications and preemptively test and verify our technology
- Generate technical reports for each field visit
- Create a knowledge base of common compatibility issues
- Maintain professional business relationships with clients, electrical installers, distributors, and vendors as a representative of Leviton
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills, ability to analyze a problem and apply critical thinking to solve.
- Comfortable working on a construction site
- Comfortable working with line voltage (120/240Vac)
- Able to work with an oscilloscope and other instrumentation
- A versatile and service-oriented mindset
- A good understanding of safety guidelines
- Familiar with building codes, Compliance & Standards, and electrical wiring
- Ability to work in a highly confidential work environment, and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or other form factors
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor of Science / Engineering / Technology degree is required. Electrical focus preffered.
- Minimum two years of experience in a field technician-related role
- Previous electrical wiring installation experience a plus
- Prior experience working on a new residential construction site is a plus
- Customer service/ technical sales experience a plus
- Up to 80% travel
- Must possess a valid US driver license

About the roleThe Field Support Technician is responsible for addressing compatibility issues of various residential electrical dimmer products in the field. They will work in unison with our sales, engineering, quality, and technical service teams to perform on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair or replace. As the face of Leviton to the customer, a professional attitude and positive demeanor must be displayed.
