Job Description

About the Role:

Cyient has an immediate opening for a Field Technician in our Telecommunications Team. You will manage Outside Plant (OSP) field data collection throughout Thunderbay, Ontario, Canada and surrounding areas. You will visit multiple pole locations daily in various States and record and analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, Windloading, pole inspections, infractions, etc, You will collect and submit data using various types of handheld electronic GIS equipment, and other hand held equipment. Work may involve walking one or more miles daily while collecting data. We will provide job training in the use of electronic equipment required to complete the work and outside plant utility recognition/design will be provided. You will be a remote employee and report directly to the Delivery Manager in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

This is a temporary position/part time position. The position will continue as long as there is pole data/inspections to be done.

You Will:

· Travel to multiple job locations daily to review proposed fiber equipment and cable locations and designs for field accuracy and propose adjustments when needed.

· Take field measurements and photos of utility poles, aerial equipment, and cables.

· Walk and work outdoors daily, in different weather conditions.

You Need:

· 2+ years of experience with utility construction in an outside plant environment.

· 1+ years of experience with existing and proposed Telecom locations.

· 1+ years of experience reading and analyzing utility work prints.

· 3+ years of experience with aerial telecom infrastructure.

· 2+ years of experience with GO95, GO128 and NESC requirements (or Canadian equivilent).

· 2+ years of experience with O-Calc, SPIDA or other wind-loading software or equipment.

· Valid driver's license, car insurance, clean driving record and reliable transportation is required.
