The Field/Office Design Technician is a trainee/entry level position that is responsible for planning the logistics of, and performing multiple and various types of telecommunications site design visits within a set budget and timeframe. Ability to sketch layouts and as-built designs in the field as well as in the office environment (CAD experience preferred). The ability to navigate between both field and office settings is a necessity. The ideal candidate will reside in the Philadelphia, PA area.

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):

1. Logistics – Efficiently plan routes, lodging, and additional accommodations to audit multiple sites and produce deliverables by or before deadlines while staying within budget.

2. Collection – Collect and document information from the field as necessary to support engineering and/or the completion of drafting procedures for small cell nodes, FTTx projects, enterprise fiber deployments, telecom site data & design, rooftop data & design.

3. Documentation – Document the best route and provide guidance to fiber design engineer for the path as well as telecom sites and rooftops.

4. Coordination – Work and communicate with appropriate personnel, including Project Managers and Clients, representing B+T in a professional manner.

5. Quality Control – Review information and documentation prior to transmission to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.

6. Transmission – Utilize proper tools and programs (Ike, Emlid GPS, Lidar scanners, 360 camera, DSLR camera, UAS/UAV) while in the field to transmit deliverables to the appropriate office/client in a timely manner.

7. Safety – Monitor working conditions and report those that may impact the maintenance of a safe environment.

8. Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
