      Summary:

      Presented annually, the NAACP Image Awards celebrate the outstanding efforts and performances of people of color in television, motion pictures, recording and literature.

      The NAACP seeks to employ a Motion Picture Coordinator for the 56th NAACP Image Awards. The Submission office secures paid entries from those who wish to be considered by a special committee that determines those who will be nominated for an Image Awards in the fields of Television + Streaming, Motion Pictures, Recording, and Literature.


      Summary of Duties:

      The Motion Picture Coordinator secures the entries within NAACP film categories, which results in a NAACP committee ballot. That ballot is used to decide the nominees that in turn will be voted upon to affect the winners of the NAACP Image Award. Coordinator responsibilities are to:

      • Develop a log of potential film projects released during the qualifying calendar period of January – December, 2024
      • Identify the contacts for each of these projects to include email address, telephone, and mailing address
      • Create a contact log of potential projects using database
      • Establish and maintain communication with entry contacts via phone and emails
      • Monitor and track submissions not only resulting in reach out to contacts, but also unsolicited submissions
      • Vet and review all submissions viability to ensure content meets the criteria of an Image Awards’ submission
      • Ensure all data received on a submission is properly input into the database
      • Link log entries to submissions in
      • Track payments and other deliverables to ensure that all data is received, completed and accompanied by proper submission fees and submission materials
      • Work with Submissions Manager on mailings of screeners/product to nominating committee and sub-committees when needed
      • Work with Submissions Manager to identify potential motion pictures for special screenings or online portals for nominating committee members to review material

      Qualifications:

      The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following professional qualifications, competencies and personal qualities:

      • Prior similar experience preferred
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook.)
      • Strong written and oral communication skills
      • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
      • Have a working knowledge of the motion picture industry
      • Basic knowledge of award shows and award show season
      • Must be available for the entire (approximately) 25-week period of employment
      • Ability to work non-standard hours, as necessary
