- Support Director of the Film/Video Studio with daily operations of the Film/Video Studio residency program.
- Scanning, collecting, and organizing digital assets (images and video files) and information on current and past artists-in-residence for both archival and promotional purposes.
- Maintain organizational system to track incoming residency proposals.
- Writing brief, original descriptions of films that have received support from the Film/Video Studio for the program’s archive.
- Assist with development and design of program intake and outtake forms to better gather information on artists-in-residence, track the exhibition/screening of supported projects, and consolidate information that can be used by Wex Advancement and Marketing & Communications to support the residency program.
- Assist with hospitality for visiting artists.
- Upkeep of off-campus artist residence.
- Occasional off-campus errands for/with visiting artists.
- Participate in work-in-progress screenings and feedback sessions with residency artists.
- Work with Film/Video Studio staff on organization and maintenance of Studio equipment and facility.
- Assist the F/V department in the planning and execution of Picture Lock, a multi-day festival taking place in the Spring of 2025 that showcases work supported by the Studio.

Wexner Center for Arts | Film/Video-JMThe Film/Video Studio intern reports to Jennifer Lange, Director of the Film/Video Studio at the Wexner Center for the Arts (jlange@wexarts.org) and will be directly involved with the daily operations of the Film/Video Studio, a nationally recognized artist-in-residency program that serves approximately 20 filmmakers and artists who come from around the world each year to live and work in Columbus as they develop new work. To date, over 400 artists, making over 600 works that include documentaries, experimental and narrative films, and multi-channel video installations, have been supported by the Film/Video Studio since its inception in 1990—a comprehensive archive that documents this rich history is currently in development.
While the position will be housed with the Film/Video Studio, the position will engage with the larger Film/Video department (which includes a robust theatrical screening program with visiting filmmakers) through ongoing projects and programs.
In addition to departmental responsibilities, all Wexner Center interns participate in a center-wide internship cohort. To support this cohort, the Learning & Public Practice department offers professional development sessions and gatherings that interns are expected to attend throughout their internship. We welcome feedback on the internship program as a whole and seek to foster a collaborative and generative environment for all interns.

Eligible candidates must have at least three years of undergraduate academic experience (or have equivalent field experience) in a discipline including but not limited to film/video production, film studies, media studies, studio art, art history, art education, comparative studies, curatorial studies, multi-/interdisciplinary studies, or museum studies.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated proficiency and the ability to work independently in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator). Consideration will be given to candidates who have an interest in and experience with digital archiving.
The position requires research and some professional-level writing, for both internal and external use, and direct communication with artists and filmmakers. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Term: This internship takes place over the academic year (Fall 2024 – Spring 2025).
Compensation: Pay range is $10 - $14/hr. Amount and method of payment will be determined by candidate experience. The Wex can also support course credit work through the candidate’s home academic unit in lieu of monetary compensation, if preferred.
