      Job Description

      With over $30 billion in revenue, Takeda Pharmaceuticals is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. We are located internationally including Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe, South and Central America, and the United States.

      We are looking to hire multiple Finance Co-Ops into our Finance organization for a six-month program starting January 2024. While we are a hybrid environment, we expect our Co-Op to be onsite most days. We provide a supportive environment with bi-weekly meetings with your hiring manager and/or mentor. Our hope is that at the end of the six-month co-op assignment, Takeda may have (dependent on economic conditions) full time perm financial analyst roles the co-op could apply to.

      The Finance Co-Op provides aspiring finance and accounting professionals with a unique experience in corporate finance and accounting. Over the course of the 6-month program, Co-Ops sharpen their skills through a variety of experiences including ownership of daily responsibilities, participation in special projects, and completion of a cross-functional community service projects.

      Assignments are designed to challenge Co-Ops to learn, adapt, and add value to their teams. Finance co-ops who excel in the Program will be considered for future other full-time finance positions as they are available.

      Each Finance Co-Op is assigned a peer mentor to help introduce them to Takeda’s corporate culture and the values and goals of the finance department. Through formal training and on-the-job experiences, the Finance leadership team is committed to developing Finance Co-Op’s financial, leadership and teamwork skills while exposing them to Takeda’s technologies, product lines and global markets.

      Work Finance Co-Ops are typically involved in include:

      • Financial Reporting and Planning –budget, forecast and consolidate information reported to external stakeholders.
      • Business Analysis and Decision Support – analyze and consolidate financial statements for Takeda’s business units and functions, including commercial, operations, and R&D.
      • Manufacturing/Cost Accounting – use general and cost accounting skills to process issues related to day-to-day business and manufacturing operations.
      • Corporate – address a variety of high-level financial tasks and projects that span across business units and regions.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and in their final year and semester. Candidates should be graduating once their finance Co-Op is complete so they can be considered for full time employment upon completion of 6-month Co-Op assignment.
      • Strong academic performance – 3.0 GPA or higher.
      • Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US or otherwise authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

      Qualifications:

      • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
      • Demonstrates excellent skills in oral & written communication, organization, team dynamics, and prioritization of tasks.
      • Demonstrates knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

      Program Timeline: Co-Op runs from January until June. Dates will be finalized by the end of 2023.
