What about your role?

We have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the Finance function.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager who will control aspects of the Finance function ensuring accurate and timely reporting to internal DHL stakeholders. You will provide accurate information and administrative support to the Operations team and wider DHL for your selected customer(s). In this role you will support 26 customers across open and closed book, with a real opportunity to add value in a commercial and analytical way. You will produce weekly and monthly closed and open book site accounts across a number of sites whilst building and supporting an engaged finance function that delivers first class results.

As a Finance Manager your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include the following:

What are the requirements?

• Preparation of weekly outturn accounts and KPI's, with variance analysis
• Preparation of a combination of closed and open book month end accounts
• Completion of Balance Sheets reconciliations to month end deadlines, using blackline tool
• Prepare customer reporting (weekly, monthly, forecasts, budgets), attend all customer finance meetings.
• Maintain and control completed customer inflation mechanism, and regularly reviewing with customer to ensure financial figures are agreed.
• Prepare DHL budgets, forecasts and targets to identify trends and variances to budgets and prompt effective action - using one R12 tool
• Champion site level cost reduction initiatives and provide the link with the departments to ensure costs reduced in line with expectations
• Complete and track trading improvements on designated files to enable sites to show initiatives in place and savings against these initiatives (TIP / GP Max)
• Overseeing of all invoice raising and management of purchasing process
• Support site Operations
• Build solid relationships with both external and internal customers through delivery of exceptional service.
• Manage the team and carry out training and 121's
• Ensure strong financial controls are maintained and work with other managers across the business to ensure best practice

What do we need from you

• Proven track record in a similar level role with experience of the above requirements
• Previous logistics/supply chain experience essential ( to include closed and open book contracts)
• Previous knowledge of a large number of accounts - preferably 20 plus
• Ability to influence key decision makers at all levels
• Excellent knowledge of accounting processes and terminology
• People management experience and excellent communication skills
• Hold relevant financial qualifications (AAT / CIMA etc.), be training towards them or be qualified by experience
