      Job summary

      The Finance Manager - New QEH will provide an efficient and pro-active financial management service to the New QEH Programme, playing a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of the New QEH.

      The New Hospital Programme (NHP) is the largest hospital improvement initiative in a generation, and at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), it presents a significant opportunity to rebuild our hospital. With the redevelopment valued at approximately £900m, this also represents the biggest infrastructure development in Kings Lynn, in generations.

      Main duties of the job

      Financial Reporting & Budget Management

      o Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance with NHS regulations, and alignment with Trust and NHP reporting frameworks.

      o Budget Monitoring: Analyse budgets, track expenditure, identify variances, and implement corrective measures.

      o Forecasting: Develop financial forecasts to support the long-term goals of the New QEH Programme.

      Capital Budget Management

      o Enabling Funds: Manage budgets, ensuring justified, transparent spending.

      o Main Works Capital Budget: Oversee expenditures, ensuring compliance and accurate audit trails.

      o Financial Analysis: Identify risks, savings, and provide recommendations.

      Staff Budget Management

      o Confidential Budget Handling: Manage staff budget in line with salary bands.

      o Payroll Coordination: Ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance.

      Collaboration & Support

      o Head of PMO Support: Provide expert financial guidance.

      o Trust Finance Liaison: Ensure compliance with SFIs and governance frameworks.

      o Procurement Oversight: Maintain budget control in procurement.

      Compliance & Risk Management

      o Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to NHS financial policies.

      o Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks.

      Continuous Improvement & Development

      o Process Optimisation: Improve financial efficiency and accuracy.

      o Best Practices: Embed modern financial approaches.

      o Ongoing Learning: Develop expertise, stay updated, and engage in training.
