- Monthly, quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting, financial statements and related reinsurance disclosures.
- Interaction and coordination with the lines of business, administrative areas and actuaries to ensure reinsurance needs are being met as well as those of reinsurance customers.
- Process improvements, ongoing initiatives, and projects to streamline team procedures and task deliverables.
- Implementation of accounting changes to comply with regulatory accounting changes or reinsurance policy changes.
- Lead various reinsurance or corporate initiatives as needed to improve overall performance and productivity
- Supervision of processes performed by professional accountants ensuring daily work is complete, reviewing and approving deliverables, training and guidance to staff as needed.
- 8 or more yrs. experience in financial accounting and reporting, with at least 2 years of leading people or projects.
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
- Completion of, or working towards CPA, MBA or CMA highly desired.
- Insurance industry, HFM, PeopleSoft experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of STAT and GAAP accounting & reporting
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to modify and develop procedures and policies to meet reporting needs/requirements.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong leadership skills including ability and willingness to provide honest feedback

Role Value Proposition
The position supports MetLife's reinsurance subsidiaries accounting and reporting functions. This role coordinates with the team for successful completion of monthly close, analysis, eliminations, review/preparation of the financial statements and participation in unit projects to maintain and improve business continuity. In addition, this position will work with reporting requirements and guidelines of applicable regulatory agencies to maintain records and prepare required financial reports.
