- Financial Accounting including responsibility for year-end accounts, monthly monitoring returns, charitable funds, accounting for losses (including medical negligence and personal injury claims), VAT etc.
- Working closely with the systems & governance and capital teams.
- CCAB qualified
- Graduate
- Comprehensive knowledge on completion of annual accounts and audit processes.
- Sound knowledge of financial control and governance processes
- In-depth highly specialist knowledge of financial and reporting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and use. Standard keyboard skills and good knowledge/use of other Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word).
- Knowledge of the NHS and its structure.
- Good knowledge of Oracle and Qlik
- Good knowledge of wider finance responsibilities and how they integrate with Financial Accounting, Capital and Systems sections
- Be able to demonstrate a customer focus to meet user needs.
- Be able to articulate and communicate complex financial and systems information to non-finance people, both orally and in writing
- Be able to lead, motivate and develop staff to achieve objectives.
- Be able to analyse, interpret and make judgements on a range of highly complex information
- Good planning and organisation skills in managing a department and projects
- Ability to speak Welsh
- Lead by example by promoting the highest standard of conduct, integrity and probity.
- Good communicator.

Job summary
Role of Financial Accountant within the Corporate Finance Team responsible for a number of areas including preparation of financial accounts, charitable fund accounts, VAT and ensuring sound financial governance.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for the post of Financial Accountant in the Corporate Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who has energy, enthusiasm, commitment and ambition to work within the finance team.
The post holder will be a key member of the Finance team supporting the Corporate Finance function. The post holder will be responsible for managing the functions, performance, staff and other resources within the Financial Accounts Section, covering:
They will support the Senior Finance Manager - Financial Accounts in the management of the financial accountancy section and deputise in internal and external groups when required e.g. All-Wales groups.
The post holder will have the full range of line management responsibilities over a number of team members in the section and will be involved in any recruitment activity within the department, including the role of recruiting officer for many of the posts.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
