- Prepare monthly consolidated and subsidiary financial statements and supplemental schedules.
- Record elimination journal entries and perform consolidations.
- Prepare year-end audit workpapers and reports.
- Provide ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Coordinate monthly close activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables across the Accounting department.
- Review general ledger reports for proper coding and cutoff.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Prepare intercompany bills and reconcile intercompany accounts.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, including cash, marketable securities, capital leases, prepaids, property and equipment, inventory, and accrued liabilities.
- Perform monthly lumber inventory counts.
- Review journal entries and reconciliations and provide feedback to preparer.
- Support the Company’s equipment program.
- Assist with accounting process improvements and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparation for annual financial statement audits and insurance audits.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- One direct report expected within 3-6 months.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical, and communication skills; Ability to lead within a team
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
- Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Construction, Homebuilding or similar industry experience
- Public Accounting experience
- Supervisory experience
- Familiarity with Vista by Viewpoint, Prophix, Microsoft Office and Windows, CCH Workpaper Manager, Crystal Reports
- Knowledge of Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah sales & use tax regulations
- Pay Type: Salary
- Pay Range: $110,000 to $125,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
