- Bachelor's Degree in business and/or accounting or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years financial/accounting experience in an educational/public sector with experience monitoring budget, managing various accounts, administrating purchasing activities and processing payroll.
- Experience in all aspects of accounting including, payroll, account reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements
- Thorough knowledge of the University's financial guideline and procedures
- Demonstrated experience using and applying general accounting principles and procedures
- Demonstrated experience completing financial forecasting analysis
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- Advances skills in Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong ability to work under pressure, meet multiple deadlines, and cope with a variety of tasks
- Accuracy with figures and detailed oriented
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Experience with University's Administrative Management Systems (FIS, DIS, RIS and HRIS), or other similar systems

Under the general direction of the Manager, Finance and HR Administration and working as a part of the Financial Services team, the Financial Administrator provides financial support to the Chemistry Department.
Your responsibilities will include:• Reconciling accounts
• Processing expense reimbursements
• Preparing and issuing invoices for cost recovery
• Preparing financial summary reports
• Preparing and/or processing journal entries
• Generating standard financial reports
• Applying the University Guide to Financial Management and other applicable policies, agency and regulatory requirements
• Entering salary and/or personnel information in HRISEssential Qualifications:
