- Assist in establishing financial aid budget and award guidelines in accordance with federal, state, college, and sponsor criteria when directed.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of financial aid regulations and applicable federal and state laws and operate in compliance with them.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure proper and effective coordination of all financial assistance programs.
- Assist in reconciliation of account balances, and completion of fiscal year reports in cooperation with the business office when directed.
- Ensure the maintenance of consistent and accurate records for program review an audit purpose.
- Educate and advise students, parents, and others about the types of financial assistance available.
- Provide pertinent financial aid information to community agencies, scholarship sponsors, other educational colleges, and to various offices within the college.
- Assist in completing and updating HOPE error report when directed.
- Counsel, assist, and advise students who are applying for or are already receiving financial assistance.
- Assist with various responsibilities of the financial aid office including federal work study, transients, scholarships, third party contracts, and private student loans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Two (2) years related work experience.
- Knowledge of SCT BANNER financial aid system.
- Previous experience working with students in financial aid within post-secondary education.
