Job Description

Two (2) Year Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, International Business or similar areas of study;
Minimum of (5) five years working in a customer/client service or a student service area of a post-secondary institution in more progressive and more responsible positions;
Must have demonstrated experience dealing with multi-cultural students;
Must also have demonstrated experience in highly charged or highly emotional conflict resolution areas;
Have strong computer skills; plus demonstrate capability and experience re: strong attention to detail.
Experience with policies and document review and evaluation;
Prior experience in a Financial Aid Office of a post-secondary institution is highly desirable.

Job Description:
Under the guidance of the Financial Aid Services Manager, the incumbent is responsible for making suggestions to the FAO Manager for process review in the administration of Federal/Provincial student loans, grants and institutional funds by delivering financial assistance to full-time and part-time student clients.
The incumbent is responsible for processing Ontario Student Assistance Program/Ontario Tuition Grant/Institutional Special Bursary Program/Part-Time Canada Student Program applications, reviews and appeals as well as maintaining Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Web systems which include Web OSAP applications, the OSAP One Key system plus error corrections and continuous upgrading of student files. The incumbent is also responsible for administering the Registrar’s Office’s Emergency Student Funding, including the Plant Some Roots Bursary and the Algonquin College’s Students’ Association Emergency program.

This position requires hybrid work at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus. With on-site training required.
