- Oversee the merit increase process to ensure alignment with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.
- Direct the budget development process, including financial forecasting, modeling, and variance analysis.
- Implement and oversee budget control processes and procedures to ensure financial discipline and compliance.
- Responsible for producing incentive calculations and ensuring accurate and timely disbursements.
- Develop financial analyses to address ad hoc issues and provide actionable insights.
- Hold expense and labor approval authority, ensuring expenditures align with budgetary limits and strategic goals.
- Act as a business advisor and primary financial leader for departments, providing strategic financial guidance.
- Serve as a departmental representative, member, or institutional contact for teams or committees developing financial dashboards or other reporting tools.
- Support the development and maintenance of financial reporting tools and serve as a consultant for their use.
- Train, mentor, and coordinate activities of junior analysts and financial team members to build a high-performing finance team.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of financial staff to ensure a skilled and capable finance team.
- Evaluate new compensation models to ensure competitiveness and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage strategic investments, overseeing financial evaluations and approvals.
- Partner in the completion of proformas to support business planning and investment decisions.
- Manage and coordinate activities of direct reports, ensuring operational efficiency and high-quality work output.
- Provide financial solutions, manage financial operations, and suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Initiate and implement innovative analytical methods, operational changes, and strategic approaches to improve financial performance.
- Build cross-functional relationships and collaborate with unit leaders, staff, and other departments, including Finance & Budget, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Controller’s Office, and Sponsored Programs, Purchasing.
- Resolve financial questions from department employees and leadership, serving as a resource for explaining financial operations.
- Review, analyze, and suggest risk mitigation strategies for departmental and divisional contracts.
- Plan, manage, and support the completion of financial analyses related to strategic initiatives, forecasting, special projects, and ad hoc data requests.
- Lead the approval process for department purchasing and payables, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with MCW Purchasing guidelines and policies.

In the role of a Financial Analysis Manager you will be working in our Surgery Department.
Purpose
Provide leadership, planning and support for financial analyses and modeling related to strategic initiatives, corporate forecasting, financial projects, federal cost proposals and ad hoc data requests in a complex environment with a rapid pace of change. Collaborates with end users within and outside of Finance to understand their business needs as well as fully leverage the software capabilities. Analyzes and tests the software functionality and ensures the accuracy of data reporting and analysis.
