      Scope of Position

      The Analyst for the James Cancer Hospital is committed to developing financial analysis of programs and projects, which incorporate knowledge and experience with financial reports, general ledger, budgets, cost accounting, reimbursement/payment methods, etc. The position prepares analyses, reports, and presentations for the leadership team which are summarized and demonstrates the key issues while being supported by available and developed data. The Analyst will collect and validate data for scorecards and benchmarking along with financial management of development funds. As needed, this position will partake in month end close journal entries/analysis, budgeting and cost center reviews. The duties and responsibilities of this position are technical in nature lending to both decision and project support.


      Position Summary

      The Analyst is a primarily technical resource providing financial analysis services as noted in the Scope of Position Section. This position works with a Finance Manager, Business Unit Team Leader, Staff, and CFO. This position reports to the Finance Manager for the James Cancer Hospital. Preferable, the Analyst will have previous accounting and finance, previous analytical skills, highly developed computer skills, and the ability to create and present information to all levels of management.

      Minimum Qualifications

      For Hire: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant business experience. Preferable, one to two years of experience in Financial Accounting, Budgeting, Cost accounting, Financial Analysis, and/or Reimbursement, preferably in a healthcare environment. Spreadsheet and Powerpoint proficiency is required, with exposure to Access. Additional knowledge of SQL, or other database tools a plus. Knowledge of decision support data sources (Tableau, Workday GL, SMS, IDX, Visionware, SRC, HCC, or oracle based databases) is also a plus.
