      SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:

      As a Financial Analyst I within the Information Services department at the top pediatric hospital in the country, you will play a critical role in evaluating and managing the financial aspects of various projects, budgets, and transactions. This position involves supporting funded projects, overseeing procurement and operational processes, ensuring accurate data management within multiple systems, and providing financial support for academic and faculty initiatives. Your analytical expertise will contribute to optimizing financial performance, ensuring compliance with funding and institutional requirements, and enhancing the overall efficiency of departmental operations.

      REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

      Funded Projects:

      • Support activities related to funded projects, including the development, monitoring, and maintenance of budgets.
      • Track and analyze expenses to ensure alignment with funding guidelines and project goals.
      • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to meet all project funding requirements.
      • Prepare and submit financial reports in compliance with the specific guidelines.

      Procurement and Operations:

      • Coordinate purchasing activities, ensuring timely acquisition and efficient allocation of resources.
      • Assist in space planning to optimize departmental operations and resource utilization.
      • Support business processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements.
      • Resolve procurement and operational issues in consultation with the Director and initiate financial transactions as needed.

      Systems and Technology:

      • Ensure the accuracy of data entry and maintenance in various systems, including clinical, human resources, financial, and supply chain platforms.
      • Generate and analyze reports to support data-driven decision-making within the department.
      • Assist with the implementation and integration of new financial systems or updates to existing systems.

      Project Support:

      • Contribute to the successful completion of projects and business plans through research, data collection, and analysis.
      • Summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
      • Support project teams by ensuring that financial goals are met and resources are allocated effectively.

      Academic/Faculty Support:

      • Provide administrative and financial support for the management of academic and faculty affairs.
      • Ensure compliance with institutional and external requirements, including financial reporting and budget management.
      • Assist faculty with financial planning and budgeting for academic initiatives.

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

      Required:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business Administration).
      • 0 - 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline, such as finance, accounting, or business operations.

      Preferred:

      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance.
      • Familiarity with financial reporting.
      • Experience with financial systems, data analysis, and project support.
