- Work with the Capital Planning and Management Team within Finance to manage the governance of the bi-annual CAP assessment, ensuring regulator expectations are met; identify control gaps and areas of improvement; develop remediation plans, as needed.
- Create comprehensive documentation of CAP assessment processes and other CCAR related processes, identifying areas for improvement. Oversee the implementation of process improvements to create more effective and efficient capital adequacy processes.
- Develop presentations and memorandums that analyze and summarize M&T’s CAP for senior management, internal risk governance committees and regulators.
- Assist in the completion, submission and review of the capital plan submission document.
- May be called upon to provide presentations to department management concerning the business activities of the department.
- Develop strong partnerships with business managers to gain an understanding of capital adequacy processes.
- Manage efforts to resolve Audit and Regulatory findings.
- Keep apprised of regulatory developments affecting the bi-annual stress tests requirements and best practices.
- Allocates work as a team leader; trains and mentors/develops junior team members.
- Possess ability to direct/persuade/influence peers and manager.
- Ensure success through shared responsibility of team workload to achieve department/project objectives (volume, quality, timeliness of end results)

- Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of finance and accounting concepts through the aggregation of financial data
- Display an expert-level understanding of M&T's financial statements; including awareness of key drivers/trends in major Balance Sheet and Income Statement line items
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Overview:
The Financial Analyst IV provides strategic direction with managing the bi-annual Capital Adequacy Process (CAP) assessments in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Reserve’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), including governance activities supporting the CAP, aggregation and organization of CCAR submission materials, and assessment and design of internal controls around the CAP. The Financial Analyst IV assists with directing workflow and may supervise other analysts involved in these processes.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience OR Associate's degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, operations or financial institutions
Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles in multiple disciplines including finance and accounting
Proficiency in accounting / finance analysis, modeling, querying and visualization tools
Education and Experience Preferred:
Advanced degree or professional certification (i.e. CPA, CFA, etc.)
Strong knowledge of financial principles and regulatory and compliance agencies/issues related to the banking industry
Previous experience with CCAR/Dodd Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) and regulatory reporting templates#LI-RS1
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.Location
