      Financial Analyst

      Harris Utilities Group is seeking a Financial Analyst to work closely with fellow Analysts and the divisional Controller in providing financial support and analysis for the division. The successful applicant will be working for the HUG Admin and Service-Link business units.

      What your impact will be:

      • Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes by working with the finance team to meet reporting deadlines
      • Prepare and post various account transactions
      • Accurate and timely completion of all balance sheet reconciliations
      • Assist with quarterly variance analysis
      • Escalate prevalent issues to leadership as needed
      • Proactively establish and maintain internal controls to minimize compliance or audit issues
      • Verify data integrity and compliance through consistent monitoring and auditing
      • Identify, improve, and standardize processes within Finance where possible
      • Assisting with special projects & ad hoc reporting as required

      WHAT WILL BE YOUR NEW ROLE

      • Technical accounting analyses under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). A non-exhaustive list of tasks includes.
      • Completing the month-end and quarter-end close processes – analyzing results; preparing journal entries and detailed balance sheet reconciliations; and various reporting deliverables for the senior leadership team(s)
      • Tracking & analyzing deferred revenue streams
      • Calculating commissions owed based on invoicing/bookings
      • Building and nurturing relationships and providing excellent customer service to the business unit(s)
      • Assisting the business unit(s) with maintaining an accurate forecast
      • Prepare audit requests and respond to queries during quarterly reviews and the interim and year-end audit
      • Leading and/or assisting with special ad hoc projects that impact various stakeholders within the organization
      • Helping with due diligence and integrating new acquisitions into the finance group

      W HAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

      • 1+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and/or accounting
      • College/University degree in accounting
      • CPA member/student or desire to work towards a CPA designation
      • Effective communicator that has experience and is comfortable working with all levels of management
      • Solutions focused mindset with a desire to improve processes
      • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
