      Job Description

      $71000 - $80000 / year

      **This is an Hybrid position 3 days a week in our San Diego, CA office**

      The Financial Analyst will play a key role on the Chuze Fitness Finance team and will help Chuze accomplish its business ambition to be the world’s friendliest, cleanest, most beloved and profitable fitness business. The Financial Analyst will be joining a growing and profitable business that is expanding and leveling up its Finance department. Major goals for the Finance department include expanding financial reporting across the organization and providing deeper insights and analytics that will allow department leaders to control costs and make better business decisions.

      The Financial Analyst position reports to the Finance & Strategy Business Partner who leads Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting for Chuze.

      The primary function of the Financial Analyst is to produce accurate and actionable management reporting that is distributed to company leaders. Tasks include updating monthly financial and operational reports, enhancing existing reports and building new reports as needed. The Financial Analyst will also assist the Finance & Strategy Business Partner with ad hoc financial analysis projects to support business decisions. Additional responsibilities include supporting the monthly close process and the budgeting and forecasting process. This role will have exposure to all aspects of the company P&L from revenue down to EBITDA and will assist with analysis and reporting on capital expenditures.

      Financial Reporting

      • Update Monthly Financial Reports and distribute to relevant department leaders. Reports include Finance Hub, District & Club P&Ls, Kids Club P&Ls, Smoothie and Retail P&Ls, Repair & Maintenance Expense Reports.
      • Update Monthly Operations Excellence Scorecard
      • Update Bi-Weekly Labor Reports for Operations and Kids Club labor and provide insightful commentary on performance trends.
      • Build new financial reports in Excel as necessary
      • Enhance existing reports for efficiency or for better presentation.
      • Update CapEx Reports

      Financial Analysis

      • Assist with Ad Hoc Analysis on various business initiatives. Tasks include gathering relevant financial and operational data, preparing charts and graphs to tell the financial story, preparing insightful commentary on analytical results.
      • Prepare PowerPoint Presentations on Ad Hoc Analysis projects

      Forecasting and budgeting

      • Update reports and models for current forecast and budget
      • Load budget and/or forecast into NetSuite Accounting system

      Support Month End Close Process

      • Update Finance Hub file with P&L data for the prior month.
      • Research variances in actuals vs budget revenue and expenses and provide insights on key P&L trends.
      • Update Member Trends file for member volume in the prior month.
      • Update NetSuite Flat File for prior month P&L data.
      • Update Monthly Operating Results Powerpoint Presentation

      Qualifications

      • Bachelors Degree in a business discipline, preferably in Finance
      • 3-5 years of experience in a finance environment with exposure to the P&L and general accounting (Required)
      • At least 3 years of direct experience building, enhancing and updating financial reports
      • In-Office 3x a week (San Diego, CA)
      • Experience working in a Fortune 500 or large company setting is a plus
      • Experience working in multi-unit businesses is a plus
      • Strong technical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, hlookups, sumifs, pivot tables, embedded IF/OR functions). Knowledge of VBA a plus.
      • Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint skills
      • Highly detail-oriented and hyper focused on accuracy
      • Effective communication, presentation and writing skills
      • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
      • Excellent skills with data analytics with the ability to draw concise insights from large sets of data.
      • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high growth business and adapt when necessary.

      • Able to collaborate well with others.

      Essential Physical Requirements:

      • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
      • Typing and computer operations
      • Ability to lift at least 15 lbs
