Job Description
- Req#: 2858
- Responsibility for preparing, analyzing and distributing standardized (weekly, monthly) financial reports to management team.
- Analyze and interpret monthly financial results and underlying data to explain variances to plan, prior periods and forecast on a pro-active basis.
- Complete key sections of financial statement analysis (Gross Margin, COGs Variances, Operating Expenses) to support Accounting month end close.
- Understanding of inventory analysis/cost accounting, including bill of material, overhead application and production variances.
- Submission of company results/analysis on corporate templates (Excel, FP&A software) under tight deadlines.
- Develop standardized reports using JD Edwards report writer to support analysis.
- Collaborate with Accounting/Management team to understand underlying assumptions and interpret financial impact.
- Collaborate with operations, demand planning and finance and develops and generates accurate reports from various data sources.
- Create ad-hoc reports and recreating old financial modules.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Support and follow internal health & safety programs and protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting.
- CPA designation or in progress.
- 1-2 years accounting and analysis experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment is an asset.
- Working towards professional accounting designation.
- Experience in working in multi-currencies, foreign exchange analysis and impact an asset.
- Advanced computer skills specifically MS Excel, BI, and SQL with experience in manipulation of large volumes of data.
- Ability to communicate financial objectives and requirements.
- Performs function with a sense of purpose and a degree of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (oral & written).
- Flexibility to work overtime as required to meet tight deadlines.

Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for reviewing financial results and completion of forecast and planning. This role will work closely with the financial accounting team on a day-to-day basis to understand financial results.
