      Position Summary:

      Under the direction of the Senior Director of Finance, processes, maintains and reports the financial information of the Health Center in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors, management and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).


      Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      1. Runs self-audits to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and FHCW procedures.

      2. Accurately enters journal entries and reconcile Sheet accounts in the General Ledger system.

      3. Assists in the preparation of periodic regulatory cost reports, tax filings, and informational summaries.

      4. Conducts and submits monthly internal audit function of Finance transactions, testing a pre-determined number of Accounts Payable and Payroll transactions, to the CFO and Senior Director of Finance. Follows GAAP and internal policies of GLFHC.

      5. Presents financial options for individual, program, and the overall FHCW budgets by presenting cost studies, projections, and current data.

      6. Investigates potential cost saving measures and means of revenue maximization.

      7. Maintains department Reconciliation Book by month with approved reconciliations and back-up documentation.

      8. Maintains Fixed Asset system, reconciling and adjusting the general ledger so all fixed asset balances for the month and depreciation is accurately recorded.

      Additional Duties:

      1. Assists with preparation for the Monthly Closing Schedule during close fiscal periods.

      2. Submits Quarterly Services Survey to the U.S Bureau of Census in a timely manner.

      3. Prepares and presents periodic reports of key operating statistics.

      4. Provides support documents for agency wide, programmatic, and other financial audits and examinations (i.e. Annual audit, Workers Comp, funding sources, IRS, DET, etc.)

      Qualifications and Education Requirements:

      One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:


      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
      • Four to six years in a progressively responsible accounting or finance position in the Healthcare, Non-Profit or Public Accounting fields

      Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other financial software.
