The Role

This role is ideal for an aspiring finance leader who is looking to step into their first Financial Controller role. As the Financial Controller, Australia you will provide financial leadership to the Australian Business Units and have full oversight of the Finance and Accounting team in our Sydney office.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the key Finance Business Partner to the Business Units, proactively providing strategic financial and business advice.
• Be the inhouse technical expert and provide strong oversight to ensure strong technical accounting and reporting.
• Lead both local and group initiatives and ensure compliance with Group Standard Operating Procedures, Group Policies, Delegation of Authority and all other relevant internal and external reporting requirements.
• Keep abreast of key changes in accounting and taxation regulations and subsequent implementation.
• Collaborate closely with the HQ office based in Singapore, to ensure delivery of timely and quality information as well as alignment with group wide initiatives (e.g. Group Finance Digital Transformation).
• Continuous process improvement to drive productivity and effectiveness in the finance and accounting area.
• Support in ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Qualified Accountant with a Degree in Accountancy / Finance or its equivalent.
• 12 to 15 years of relevant accounting and finance experience with at least 6 years managerial experience.
• Experience in Real Estate and/or Real Estate Fund Management industry is preferred.
• Technically strong and ability to ensure compliance with all local and IFRS reporting requirements.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Ability to be hands-on and lead a small and lean team in a fast-paced environment.
