      Financial Manager (Accounts Payable) (HRL 17)

      We’re on the lookout for an experienced Financial Manager to manage the payments of all Sappi SA trade creditors in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, focusing on system and staff productivity and ensuring efficiencies throughout the process.

      As a Financial Manager, you will be responsible to:

      • Manage the Accounts Payable Department by monitoring and controlling processes and providing guidance and support so that vendor invoices can be paid accurately and on time for goods and service supplied to Sappi.
      • Compile budgets and forecasts for accounts payable within SSA and submit to GM for review and submission to Sappi Head office.
      • Manage discounts and payment processes by paying suppliers on time and making cashflow calculation decisions for settlement discounts
      • Participate in system design and initiate system changes to improve efficiencies based on research and the impact on the Sappi SA region
      • Implement and customise relevant accounting processes should an account be required to change as initiated from Senior management /Accounting standards committee
      • Manages and supervises the preparation and presentation of information and documents for interim and year end audits for both internal and external auditors and plans accordingly ahead of time
      • Review various departmental reports monthly and quarterly ensuring departmental key objectives are tracked and reported on monthly
      • Authorise all payments as a B signatory daily for foreign payments, payment proposals and evaluated receipts settlements
      • Manage the various people management activities for accounts payable ensuring team is engaged, efficient and productive

      What are we looking for?

      • B.Com degree preferably with Articles
      • Minimum 5 Years relevant experience with 2 years managerial experience
      • Experience with managing large teams will be preferable
