Provide financial aid assistance to prospective and enrolled students.

Support the Director of Financial Planning and Financial Counselor Manager in maintaining Financial Aid Programs and compliance.

Assist Veterans in the completion of the VA Benefits Application

Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all federal, state, and internal policies and procedures

Provide clerical support to both the Director of Financial Planning and Financial Counselor Manager.

Counsel perspective students on financial aid eligibility and payment options
-
Work closely with other Financial Planners and staff all working toward departmental goals.

Answer questions, inquiries or requests from students and parents in person or in writing regarding financial aid programs and eligibility.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma/ GED-Required

Associate and/or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a combination of education and experience.

2 years customer service experience preferred

Financial Aid Experience preferred, but not required

Proficiency with MS Office, navigating the Internet, and learning database software systems is essential

Salesforce experience a plus

Listen to potential students (on both phone and video platforms) and communicate verbal and written feedback. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Analyze financial aid paperwork and detect concerns or areas for improvement.

Frequently move about the office.

Maintain a high level of consistent cognitive function to effectively assist students

Stoop, kneel or crouch when maneuvering the office environment.

Lift up 25lbs at times.
Pay Rate: Hourly Non-Exempt: 38K

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
It is the role of the Financial Planner to meet with potential applicants. Financial Planners educate the applicant on his/her Title IV eligibility and provide applicants with the necessary tools to make an informed decision all while providing exceptional customer service. Financial Planners will counsel students regarding financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, money management, and financial planning individualizes information to the particular needs and situation of the student.
Due to the nature of this role, attention to detail, analytical ability, and willingness to perform complex tasks/multitask are essential. A financial planner must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work Schedule:
Monday & Wednesday: 11:00am - 9:00pm EST
Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00am – 8:00pm EST
*Friday: 10:00am – 6:00pm EST
*May on occasion, rotate working a Saturday instead of a Friday
Schedule is subject to change with the needs of the business.
