As part of this new thinking, we are seeking some dynamic individuals to take on an exciting new dual role which incorporates providing advice to our clients and managing a small team of Financial Planners. This ‘Adviser / Manager’ role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to maintain their advisory status and utilise their management capabilities.

      Due to expansion and growth, Quilter Private Client Advisers is recruiting a Financial Planning Manager to work with our dynamic and forward-thinking financial planning team.

      Our Financial Planning Manager (Adviser / Manager) is responsible for managing a team of Financial Planners regionally, all of whom are responsible for the ongoing servicing/retention as well as identification of new business.

      The focus of this dual role is leadership, management and development of Financial Planners as well as supporting business growth and the delivery of advice direct to our clients.

      The ideal candidate for this role will have demonstrable experience in a Financial Planner/Adviser role and have experience (or aspirations) in a manager role within a wealth/asset management background. You must have a sound understanding of the end-to-end advisory process in the private client and institutional markets, and some management experience would be beneficial.

      The dual role will include the following duties:

      Manager

      • Management of a team of Financial Planners
      • Develop and manage the team business plan aligned with corporate objectives and target market
      • Continued development of the Financial Planning team and ensuring the team is meeting high standards of expectation
      • Monitor business performance and embedded client contact and sales strategy
      • Support recruitment of high-quality Financial Planners to maintain and grow the business in line with business plan
      • Embody leadership characteristics and Quilter values to inspire and motivate both immediate team and people in the wider organisation
      • Ensure any MI required is collated and reported where required
      • Work closely with Quilter Cheviot counterparts to build relationships and ways of working
      • Play an active role in business development, promoting the growth of the region

      Financial Planner

      • Working collaboratively across Quilter’s Wealth Management Division, often with Investment Managers, you will offer clients a bespoke financial plan, typically with an ongoing service
      • Develop and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, delivering the required elements relevant to their chosen service level and fee level
      • Seek appropriate business opportunities, both from new and existing clients, working closely with Quilter Cheviot. For example, attending events, being active in local business and communities, following up leads, explaining the Wealth Management Division’s services to potential new clients and following up on all opportunities to obtain new target market clients as well as developing relationships with professional connections
      • Absorb current developments in financial services, the financial markets, and economic trends and communicate them clearly
      • Provide all advice within a strict ethical and compliance framework, ensuring that all operations affecting clients are carried out in accordance with FCA rules, whilst putting clients at the heart of our business
      • Provide input into our proposition, service, and colleague development initiatives as an active member of the team

      You will need to have knowledge of sales management, client advice, systems and processes that support Advisers to meet the required performance levels, as well as a full understanding of internal compliance and T&C requirements to ensure we always stay within the required compliance guidelines and parameters.

      You’ll need knowledge and understanding of the competitor market and economic climate, with an understanding and experience of the environments of investments, financial planning, investment consulting, legal/regulatory and advice implementation structures development.

      You’ll have effective, commercial experience in managing a business/business units and proven experience in the financial services industry within the advice space to retail and/or institutional clients, with a background in investments, linked products, collective investment schemes, life insurance and/or employee benefits.

      You’ll also have the following financial planning skills:

      • Change skills – maturity and experience in rapidly changing environments
      • Self-learning and ability to keep up and distil industry developments
