      About the Role


      We’re looking for a Financial Projects and Process Analyst to join our Corporate Reporting and Business Intelligence team. The Financial Projects and Process Analyst will support business evaluation and documentation processes for OCS FP&A business initiatives and processes to ensure their alignment with the agency’s provincial mandate and the strategic priorities for the organization in commercializing recreational cannabis while achieving ongoing value-for-money objectives.

      The Project and Process Analyst is a highly organized, energetic professional that uses their superior attention to detail to track business initiatives and operations, support Senior Leadership decision-making, develop and document OCS policies and procedures, and support department staff in developing change management plans. This individual will be responsible for providing timely and efficient administrative support to department leadership, including preparing PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and meeting minutes. They will also liaise with other departments to schedule meetings and conference calls and work on other project requests with your department team.

      About Your Day

      • Organize and Lead Business Initiative Assessment (BIA) meetings, including liaising with department management and staff to set meeting agendas and outreach to business owners and support department staff in summarizing outcomes.
      • Recommend and Implement process improvements to the current BIA Process and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) to help support business areas complete required documentation in an efficient manner.
      • Manage and organize repository of business initiative plans to support effective auditability and prudent records management.
      • Track all business initiatives brought forward by business areas as they travel through the business initiative lifecycle and prepare updates and materials for management, as needed.
      • Work with department staff (i.e., SFA’s) to facilitate and coordinate updates/revisions to documentation and ensure their ongoing availability for business owners.
      • Actively maintain and monitor prioritized projects to ensure Senior Leadership has visibility over progress, and work with department members to prepare supporting materials, as necessary.
      • Work with the Finance team to incorporate BIA automation into the D365 Procurement Tool when project is underway and lead/support the change management activities
      • Support the implementation and ongoing development of the FP&A Tool by attending meetings to provide operational and process guidance.
      • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and schedules for current OCS and FP&A business processes, ensuring sufficient documentation, approval, and accessibility through one central repository.
      • Support the integration of financial and business processes with the newly formed Strategy and Transformation Team.
      • Perform a gap analysis on current FP&A processes (forecast, budget, month-end etc.) to identify areas of opportunity for efficiencies and implement recommendations for improvements.
      • Support the administration and documentation of business process mapping activities, as required, and ensure documentation is readily available to Senior Leadership and business partners.
      • In addition to supporting the Director, FP&A and the Manager, Financial Process Excellence in administering the BIA process, the Analyst will build and manage department records (i.e., SharePoint, Confluence, or shared drive).

      About You

      • Completion of post-secondary education in business administration or related subjects.
      • 1-3+ years experience working in project coordination and/or administration
      • Highly organized, energetic professional with a superior attention to detail comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to support the development and delivery of a business support framework
      • Business Acuity
      • Proficiency in Jira and/or other project management / tracking solutions
      • Intermediate to advanced level of skills with Microsoft Office applications including: Outlook, Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
      • Lucid Chart experience/exposure would be an asset

      About the Job

      • This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule. The current in office requirement is a minimum of 3 days/week (may be more depending on business needs). The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge St. However, OCS reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.
