Job Description

- Casework and projects – the team receives referrals from consumers, supervisors and other stakeholders, which are dealt with on a risk based approach either individually or collectively
- Supervisory support – we provide technical advice on firm specific supervisory issues as well as support supervisors on Firm Assessment Models, portfolio analysis and multi-firm work
- Risk identification and analysis – the team identifies current risks and trends in firms’ financial promotions through our programme of reactive and proactive monitoring. We also produce an issues log, which we prioritise and make decisions regarding which diagnostic tools should be used to mitigate the issue
- Technical support – the team has specialist skills and experience, which it uses in a variety of internal and external work
- Reviewing referrals received from consumers and other stakeholders into the team inbox, and proactively reviewing current promotions for compliance with our rules, on a rota-basis
- Carry out casework, including understanding and identifying relevant financial promotion rule breaches and communicating these to firms
- Answer queries relating to the financial promotions regime and provide answers or recommendations
- Provide support to colleagues on project and policy work through assessing financial promotions, conducting research or running reports for review
- Draft summaries/reports of findings for policy or thematic work
- Draft letters to firms and/or consumers, tailoring the message appropriately to suit the audience
- Prepare and deliver internal presentations as required
- Use Intact and other data to produce Management Information (MI) and reports to senior management
- Experience of a broad range of interesting and challenging case, project and policy work across all sectors

- Experience writing reports and presenting findings
- The ability to analyse information quickly and effectively and identify and present key issues in a clear and timely manner
- The ability to work with key stakeholders and build good relationships
- The ability to manage a variety of competing tasks and issues
- A knowledge of banking, mortgages, insurance, investment business or consumer credit
- Knowledge of/interest in consumer protection
- Awareness of the financial promotions regime

Financial Promotions Case Officer
Salary: National up to £58,000 and London up to £63,000
Are you interested in joining a specialist team responsible for the identification and mitigation of risk associated with financial advertising?
The aim of the Financial Promotions Team is to reduce harm to consumers caused by them being mis-sold to as a result of non-compliant financial promotions (adverts). The team identifies and takes appropriate action in relation to non-compliant financial promotions and aims to drive behavioural changes within firms to mitigate this harm to consumers and our operational objectives.
