Job Summary
The Financial Reporting Supervisor oversees accounting operations, which include financial accounting, invoicing and analysis. The Financial Reporting Supervisor ensures all financial reporting, operations, and transactions maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory financial policies, standards, and controls.
Duties/Responsibilities
Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
Oversees the collection and analysis of financial information for GWmedicine.
Monitors the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
Responsible for creating accurate and timely financial records by performing the month-end closing process, preparation of journal entries, and with year-end audits by preparing assigned audit support documents.
Perform reconciliations and work with appropriate individuals to resolve any reconciling items.
Ensures all financial reporting, operations, and transactions maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory financial policies, standards, and controls.
Oversees accurate and proper timely cash recording, reconciliations.
Manages third party billing, record keeping and recognition of revenue and expenses.
Works with multiple departments to collect and resolve outstanding billing issues and other requests.
Reconciles general ledger accounts and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
Coordinates the preparation of the corporate tax return.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Analyzes financial data to identify trends and support decision making.
Other duties as assigned or required.Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Licensure/Certification
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Experience
5 years or more project accounting or financial reporting experience
Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate in a professional manner
Must possess strong creative problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
Must have excellent organizational, analytical and reporting skills
Must be familiar with all pertinent federal and state regulations and compliance requirements affecting financial operations and reporting
Must be able to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a positive environment for employees and management
Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside GWmedicine.
Must be able to follow and understand instructions, and react favorably in all work situations
Must be able to input data into a computer, and analyze data as requested
Must be able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in an appropriate mannerWorking Conditions
