      UK Entities Financial Risk Management Analyst (assistant Vice President (AVP) (Hybrid)

      Description

      This role will support the UK Chief Risk Officer (CRO), who is the Chief Risk Officer for Citigroup Global Markets Limited (CGML) and Citibank N.A. London Branch (CBNA London), with financial risk management, oversight and controls of the UK Legal Entities and assisting with delivery of strategic and regulatory projects.

      CGML is Citi’s largest international broker-dealer entity headquartered in London. It is regulated in the UK by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). CBNA London is Citi’s largest non-U.S. branch of Citibank N.A., the primary bank subsidiary of Citigroup. It is regulated in the U.S. by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and regulated in the UK by the PRA and FCA. Both legal entities are classified as Citi’s Material Legal Entity and are two of Citi’s four major global booking and risk hubs.

      The role reports into the UK Head of Credit and Settlement Risk Oversight, who reports to the UK Head of Financial Risk, who in turn reports to the UK CRO.

      The role will support the day-to-day second line of defense aggregate risk oversight of financial risks (incl. market, credit and liquidity risks) for Citi’s UK Legal Entities. This will be affected through the analysis and review of data and reports produced by first line of defense and other second line of defense functions within Risk Management. It will also involve close liaison with the first line banking and trading businesses and staff in other risk and control functions, to support effective risk governance for CGML and CBNA London.

      Development Value:

      • This role will provide cross-functional and cross-risk experience and exposure to a wider range of banking activities and risk management models and frameworks. The position involves a significant amount of interaction with senior management, involvement in Board and ExCo level MI and reporting, and will contribute directly to a variety of the critical strategic projects within Citi in the UK.
      • The role will also assist a variety of regular and ad hoc UK regulatory requests and interactions, offering the opportunity to be part of a high profile and high performing risk team. The role will suit an ambitious and driven individual who wants to broaden their banking and risk management experience.

      Knowledge and Experience:

      • Risk management or quantitative risk modelling background with working knowledge of counterparty credit risk preferred. A working knowledge of Market Risk, Liquidity Risk and Operational Risk would also be beneficial.
      • Relevant experience from a top tier bank or a consultancy firm, with understanding of core wholesale banking and trading activities business models and knowledge of global markets, products and services.
      • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
      • Excellent written communication skills with ability to synthesize complex concepts, and effectively present in text or slide format.
      • Excellent oral communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively to senior management.

      Qualifications:

      • Education in Economics, Finance, Financial Risk Management, or other quantitative discipline preferred.
