Please contact the Florida Department of Transportation’s Human Resources Office located at 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399, or call (850) 414-5300 for assistance.POSITION DESCRIPTION: Audit payment documents including utility invoice transmittals, right of way invoices, purchasing card transactions, travel and individual reimbursement vouchers, and MyFlorida MarketPlace (MFMP) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, directives, policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Audit and processes contract/written agreement payments for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, directives, policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Audit electronic contract invoices and review new contracts, processed in the Consultant Invoice Transmittal System (CITS), for mathematical accuracy, and compliance with Florida Statutes, and Department of Financial Services and Department of Transportation policies and procedures. Review and approve contractual documents (contract, amendments, and task work orders) transmitted through the Consultant Invoice Transmittal System (CITS). Ensure that the information entered in CITS is consistent and conform with the signed contract documents.
Perform vouchering functions and exercise due diligence to ensure accuracy of entry into the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) system. Maintain payment ledgers for contracts and purchase orders. Reconcile
payment ledgers against FLAIR encumbrance balances. Prepare adjusting entries, as necessary.
Research and resolve payment inquiries from vendors and employees; effectively communicate results to requestors by email as well as by telephone; identify recurring issues and report statistical results to management.
Reconciles contracts for close-out and at completion of reconciliation, provides a write-up discrepancies and contractual findings to the Contract Office.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures; Ability to analyze transactions and reconcile accounting records; Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness; Skilled in auditing; Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines; Ability to work timely and accurately under pressure and handle difficult situations; Ability to deal with internal and external customers in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An associate degree from an accredited college or university. Professional accounting experience can substitute on a year- for-year basis for the required associate degree.

A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,268.80 will be added to the annual salary.
