      POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Fine Dining Host is a representative and first impression of the Nisqually Red Wind Casino in the Grille and Seafood Restaurants. Fine Dining Host’s goal to ensure that our guest are greeted warmly, seated quickly and the guest have an excellent experience by making eye contact, engaging in conversation and being courteous at all times.

      JOB SUMMARY: The fine dining host is responsible for supporting Team Members by setting up for events and maintaining a friendly, professional appearance at all times. This position is also responsible for answering telephones, scheduling reservations, greeting and seating our guest in a timely manner, thanking guests upon their exit with a warm farewell. The Host will monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for available tables, estimate wait times and ensure that the needs of our guests are met at all times.


      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

      • Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
      • Ensures any special needs or requested accommodations are met
      • Answer any immediate questions the guest may have
      • Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service
      • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol control policy
      • Maintain a clean reception area
      • Help clear tables if needed
      • Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce servers name.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      Requirements

      Required skills and knowledge:

      • 6 months restaurant hosting.
      • Ability to read and understand menus.
      • Ability to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guest.
      • Ability to listen and respond to guests in a loud environment.
      • Basic math skills.
      • Passion for providing extraordinary service
      • Ability to work positively in a fast paced environment
      • Ability to work effectively within a team
      • Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone.
      • Ability to multi-task, organize, and be dependable.
      • Excellent written communication
      • Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Permit.
      • Ability to obtain a Mast Permit.
      • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
      • Ability to work peak business hours.
      • Ability to obtain a Class II gaming license.

      Preferred skills and knowledge:

      • 1+ years guest service experience in the Hospitality Industry
      • Ability to work with a P.O.S. (Point of Sale) system.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
      • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
      • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
