Job Description

- Run test on fire alarm system
- Inspect system response
- Coordinate with fire department to avoid response to test
- Coordinate with other Vendors and Departments as needed to ease workflow
- Repair system if necessary or inform Service Department of customer needs
- Inform Service department of customer needs
- Advise customer of test results
- Perform sprinkler inspection service, as required by Washington State RCW/WAC
- Requisition, receive, and stock all tools alarm devices, and other materials required by both field and office personnel.
- Process return of equipment to the manufacturer for repair.
- Process all equipment requisitions and provide kitted equipment for work orders 24 hours in advance of scheduled installation/service appointment.
- Maintain adequate stock levels, control the release of inventory, and conduct inventory surveys of shops and vehicles regularly.
- Process all incoming shipments daily.
- Maintain all reports and logs required for the Shop.
- Maintain the Shop in a neat and orderly fashion.
- All other miscellaneous responsibilities and other duties as assigned
- 2+ years' experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years post high-school education preferred
- NICET 2 Fire Alarm System or Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm System or ESA Certified Fire Alarm Technician Level 2 (CFAT2) required
- Seattle FA1 certificate preferred, or ability to obtain required
- NICET 1 Inspection and Testing of Water-Based System preferred
- Working knowledge of NFPA required -UL standards in addition preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction and electrical wiring required.
- Aptitude in the use of hand tools required.
- English language skills required
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Good interpersonal skills required.
- Word processing and basic spreadsheet skills required.
- Proficiency with inventory/database programs preferred.
- Strong organizational skills required
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
- Final applicant will need to have the ability to pass a pre-employment screening process.
- Frequent standing, walking, talking, listening, working at a computer and travel.
- Occasional sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, crouching, kneeling and crawling.
- Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
- Motor vehicle driving vision and computer usage vision required.
- Close, distance, color, depth perception and focusing vision required.
- Noise level is usually moderate.

Description
Position Summary: Inspect and test fire alarm systems to ensure that they function effectively and meet NFPA standards. Adjust or repair malfunctioning systems. Perform basic sprinkler inspection service. In addition, manage branch inventory and equipment repair and return.
