      Job Title: Firmware Test Engineer


      Job Description

      Join our team to work with cutting-edge technologies crucial for product development. You will collaborate effectively with both software and hardware product teams and review user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements to ensure interfaces meet functionality standards.

      Responsibilities

      • Collaborate with cross-functional Product Development teams to understand and validate requirements.
      • Work with firmware engineers to comprehend proposed design solutions and provide constructive feedback.
      • Participate in design, API, firmware, and testing case reviews.
      • Translate high-level product requirements into firmware test scenarios and create detailed, comprehensive test plans.
      • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
      • Develop timely and accurate software testing status reports and metrics for the engineering team.
      • Conduct performance testing to assess system scalability, stability, and response time.
      • Enter and track defects/bugs in JIRA, performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
      • Interface with engineers of various disciplines to understand technology and determine the root cause of issues.
      • Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes with enthusiasm.

      Essential Skills

      • Proficiency in Python or C.
      • Experience with software testing, specifically firmware/embedded testing.
      • Manual testing experience.
      • Exposure to automation and hardware.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
      • 5+ years of experience in software testing.
      • Experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and LabVIEW.
      • Skill in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive firmware test scenarios, test cases, and test plans.
      • Experience in managing environments and creating CI/CD pipelines to enhance test automation.

      Work Environment

      Job Type & Location

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.69/hr.
