Arts and Sciences | Molecular Genetics AdministrationThe Fiscal Associate provides high level fiscal, procurement, and administrative day-to-day support to faculty, staff, and students in the Department of Molecular Genetics as well as the Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center (ABRC). Under general instruction of the Department Manager, the Fiscal Associate independently initiates requisitions for department resources; monitors annual service agreements and ensures all internal billings are accurate; tracks purchase order fulfillment to ensure receipt of orders; anticipates and recognizes a variety of complex and unusual issues with procurement transactions and works to resolve them which could include interaction with suppliers and/or central officers when necessary; reviews open purchase orders and resolves to closure; ensures invoices are entered and fully paid through accounts payable; follows up with open invoices and resolves intricate match exceptions as needed; initiates and tracks expense reports, and expenditures in compliance with University policy and purchasing guidelines; initiates routine monthly financial reconciliation reporting process and maintains detailed financial accounting records and reconciliation checklists which can include but is not limited to sensitive payroll processes and general ledger processes; initiates journal entries, deposits, and fund transfers as needed to perform FDM reallocations and/or corrections; serves as a PCard manager for both UNIV and OSP funds maintains fiscal year tracking mechanisms; hires, trains, and manages student assistants as needed based on Departmental needs; backup for costing allocations and payroll accounting adjustments; back up for travel assistance; backup for mail/copy room, general office assistance, maintaining website content, and assists with special administrative projects, events, and/or reports as assigned; works productively as a team member to support all academic, research areas, program, and centers, as well as department business functions.
Required:
Associate degree and two years of relevant experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office modules including spreadsheet database, word processing, and presentation software is required. Can complete work independently with general instruction.Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in business administration; experience in and administrative capacity strongly desired; advanced knowledge of OSU and OSP policies and procedures desired; experience working with Workday software strongly desired.Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $18.61 - 24.81. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
