      Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Fiscal Technician. The Fiscal Technician is responsible for duties related to accounts payable processes, including reviewing invoices from providers and vendors to assure they are accurate and reflect proper authorization procedures have been followed. Payments of invoices are processed according to Agency and County policies and procedures to assure timeliness and compliance with mandates and regulations under the supervision of the Fiscal Officer 2, Manager of Accounting and Eligibility.

      Fiscal Technicians also assist with the processes related to the procurement of Title IV-E and TANF funding, as well as securing funding from third party revenue sources, which include Domestic Relations and Social Security, under the supervision of the Fiscal Officer 1, Eligibility Supervisor. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

      One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or Graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or one year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six credits in accounting.

      A resume along with a copy of either an official or unofficial college transcript must be attached to the application.

      Transcripts must include: 1) Name of the Applicant, 2) School Name, 3) Full list of academic coursework, 4) Degree (if awarded).

      A valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable reference checks are required.
