      ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

      We are accepting applications for three (3) Fish Management Coordinator (hatcheries) positions within the Division of Wildlife, with 2 positions located at London State Fish Hatchery in Madison County, 2470 Roberts Mill Rd, London, OH 43140 (PN: 20058785 & 20058786); and 1 position located at Castalia State Fish Hatchery in Erie County, 7018 Homegardner Rd, Castalia, OH 44824 (PN: 20101629).       What you will do:

      • Propagate and care for warm-, cool-, and coldwater fish to stock in public waters.
      • Perform facility and grounds maintenance.
      • Monitor fish health and use chemicals for disease treatments.
      • Assist with public outreach events and facility tours.
      • Operate heavy machinery and vehicles.

      Starting hourly pay of $19.99/hour with multiple pay increases over your first 7 years of service and an ending hourly pay of $23.49/hour.

      24 months of experience conducting fish management surveys, data collection, operating fish sampling equipment & implementing fish management strategies AND valid driver's license.

      -OR completion of associate core program in fisheries science to include 1 course in chemistry AND 6 months of experience conducting fish management surveys, data collection, operating fish sampling equipment & implementing fish management strategies AND valid driver's license.

      -OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

      Knowledge of fish management practices*; biology; zoology; chemistry. Skill in use & operation of fish survey equipment (e.g., nets, hatch kit, water sampler, eckman dredge, Ph meter, electro-shocker)*; operation of motor boats, tractors, power & hand tools. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables within familiar context; gather, collate & classify information; lift 50 lbs.
