- Develops and oversees personalized exercise prescriptions relating to speed, agility, and strength as it relates to the job function with an overall focus on injury prevention and meeting the job parameters.
- Conducts individual fitness assessments for each team member performing in an “at risk” job function to determine whether their current fitness level meets the designated parameters for the position.
- Develops and helps set the fitness level training programs for rehearsals and maintenance parameters for each identified “at risk” role in partnership with Show Direction, Entertainment management and EHS.
- Develops and provides injury prevention training and ergonomic evaluations based upon accident/incident trends and injury frequency rates. Develops and maintains metrics to demonstrate employee fitness improvement vs. accident frequency.
- Identifies job tasks which require specific physical parameters to perform the job safely (stunts, puppetry, dance, articulated animation, etc.), which experience high injury frequency/severity rates, and/or are “at risk” for injury due to the physical demands of the job function.
- Provides guidance and consultation on fitness, diet, and health as well as instruction on the correct use of exercise equipment. Works with Entertainment management to ensure equipment is appropriate, safe, and in proper working order.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Athletic Training required.
- 5+ years Fitness Specialist experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Personal Trainer Certificate (preferred).

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of exercise physiology for Entertainment as it pertains to athletic/specialty skill auditions, rehearsals, training, workshops, fitness tests, performer conditioning and physical maintenance to assist with injury prevention, as well as creating structured, goal-oriented, individualized programs designed to facilitate the injury recovery process while preventing future injury occurrences.
