Job Description

- Maintain the excellent reputation of the trade desk and develop into executing trades by voice and using platforms for Credit, Rates and FX in Emerging Markets and European Developed Markets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with counterparties including sales, traders and syndicate desks.
- As part of the investment team, work closely with analysts and portfolio managers to provide value-add to the investment process through sharing technical insights and trade/switch ideas.
- Work closely with portfolio managers in understanding the portfolio construction and market views to deliver customized solutions for the respective portfolios and strategies.
- Monitor and outline the key upcoming events and risks in markets and provide ongoing market commentary by interacting with sales and traders to gather insights in flows as well as market positioning.
- Actively participate with the new issue process from the book-building process to allocation phase by working with analysts and portfolio managers, including construction of IOI and calculating the fair value level.
- Monitor and manage FX hedging exposures on a daily basis.
- Run trading statistics for monthly broker review and analysis.
- Enhance and support the franchise by working on specific projects to help optimize and enhance the trading desk procedures.
- Basic knowledge of fixed income and the financial markets with strong interest to learn more.
- Strong written and inter-personal communication skills.
- A good communicator with proven presentational skills.
- Team player with flexibility to adapt and grow as responsibilities increase.
- Independent, self-motivated individual.
- Investment Management Certificate (IMC) required or IMC to be taken and passed within 3 months of hire.
- Entry level professional likely to have some relevant experience of trading, including back office/middle office experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and / or Python + pandas is ideal.
Trader responsible for supporting a team of 4 Portfolio Managers (PMs) covering EM Local, Hard Currency across Sovereign and Corporates, FX and European Credit. As part of the investment team, providing high quality best execution and value-add to the investment process.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Working under direct supervision, assisting his/her senior colleagues in the daily investment trade execution activities.
Research/implement further automation to increase desk efficiency.
