We are currently seeking an experienced 2nd shift Smithe Envelope Operator for our growing Bindery Department.

Summary : The Envelope Operator is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and safe operation of the F.L. Smithe Champion Envelope Convertor to produce quality finished products that meet customer and company specifications and quality standards.

Schedule : 1st shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five or more days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday – Friday, or similar. This is an on-site position requiring the employee to be present physically.

Salary Range: $15.00 To 17.00 Hourly

Compensation commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Access the batching system to view batch lists and identify priority jobs to be completed
• Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications for custom jobs
• Ensure machines are ready and set specifications to run products as required
• Quality control of completed jobs, providing updates on job status and schedule to the supervisor
• Make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and timely flow of materials
• Monitor assigned machine during run to ensure machines are maintaining the proper requirements
• Unload machine and stack materials on pallets
• Ensure jobs are meeting quality and quantity requirements
• Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve if possible, notifying Floor Supervisor
• Maintain proper machine maintenance and lubrication
• Remove waste items for recycling
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency; preferred
• Six-months to one-year related experience utilizing an F.L. Smithe Champion Envelope Convertor
• Six-months to one year experience troubleshooting and utilizing mechanical inclination to determine machinery needs

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic math skills, ability to perform mathematical functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Effectively communicate orally and written with all members of the internal organization as well as external customers
• Ability to work flexible, extended hours and weekends as needed
• Quality oriented • Reading comprehension in relation to job ticket assignment and customer instructional specifications
• Detail-oriented and organized work ethic including efficient time management skills, with proven track record of completion of tasks/assignments
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment
