      Scope:

      The Fleet & Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating transportation operations and CDL drivers. The supervisor will manage operation policies and standards, including oversight of safety procedures for a small corporate fleet. This position will ensure compliance with DOT, state and local laws, as well as all company policies. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of products and safe shuttling of materials. This position is also responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating inspections, repairs, and maintenance associated with the Heartland Distribution operations. Applicant should expect to spend equal parts of their day associated with Fleet Operations as with Facilities Operations.

      Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities :

      Fleet Management

      • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers for vehicle leases, maintenance and repairs
      • Develop and implement strategies and programs to guarantee the safe operation of our fleet team
      • Drive compliance with all U.S. Department of Transport laws and regulations including registration, filings, and logs
      • Document all records outlined by DOT and company policies including standard operating procedures, food safety and quality plans, training records, etc.
      • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and transportation sequences to meet transportation goals
      • Maintain and verify records of attendance, time, materials, expenditures, or crew activities
      • Maintain shuttle equipment and out-of-service equipment and records
      • Utilize yard management software to ensure operations are serviced without interruptions
      • Develop and motivate the team to solve their day-to-day operational issues and achieve goals through ongoing communication, including facilitation of team meetings
      • Lead in-person and virtual training sessions and meetings, assigning online training when applicable based on in cab reports
      • Initiate and drive process improvements by developing and maintaining operational processes

      Facilities Management

      • Conduct audits and assessments of facility environments to ensure compliance with health and safety standards ensuring no defects or malfunctions
      • Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure facility functionality
      • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for facility-related projects and repairs
      • Supervise the maintenance and repair of company facilitate including buildings, grounds, and equipment
      • Utilize project management system to oversee the overall progression of multiple facilities maintenance projects
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications:

      • 3+ years of Fleet Supervisory experience preferred
      • Thorough understanding of current DOT regulations
      • High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
      • Extensive understanding of Supply Chain Logistics
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
      • Proficient with fleet management software and facilities management systems
      • Mechanical aptitude required with project management experience preferred.

      Physical Demands:

      • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
      • Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
      • Must be able to work extended hours, such as an occasional weekend
      • Must possess visual acuity to document company records
      • Continuous walking throughout plants and distribution centers.
      • Lifting up to 40 pounds
