      POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Office Position - IN PERSON

      POSITION SUMMARY:

      Buchheit Logistics, a carrier of dry bulk and finished goods, is seeking a safety-minded, results-driven trucking Fleet Manager to assist our logistics efforts nationwide. This position oversees the planning and day-to-day operations of the fleet while ensuring compliance with federal regulations as well as company safety standards.

      The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with both internal and external customers and assisting our team of professional drivers to safely and efficiently meet our customer's expectations, while maximizing fleet utilization, continued growth and profitability.

      This position requires the ability to multitask, self-motivate, and communicate effectively. Must have ability to positively interact with all levels of management, other team members and drivers. Transportation industry experience preferred, dispatching experience a plus.


      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Required to work in the office - NOT A REMOTE POSITION
      2. This position directly supervises drivers and may require being "on-call" after-hours and weekends.
      3. Keep current with transportation regulations, industry trends and best practices.
      4. Communicate with internal and external customers to maintain strong working relationships and serve as point of contact to answer questions and resolve problems or conflict to minimize delays and maximize utilization.
      5. Coordinate between supervisor, customers and drivers to balance safety and profitability with customer expectations.
      6. Reinforce compliance with safety, fuel / routing, fuel mileage, idle time and customer service, coach drivers as necessary.
      7. Serve as driver’s supervisor to manage Driver KPIs and improve driver performance and retention.
      8. Ensure freight orders and load confirmations are entered into Transportation Management Software (TMS) system to generate freight bills and respective invoices.
      9. Plan loads and schedule loading/unload appointments to maximize customer and driver satisfaction.
      10. Dispatch drivers in compliance with company policy, federal guidelines and FMCSA Hours of Service regulations.
      11. Communicate effectively to ensure drivers have necessary information to successfully complete load assignments.
      12. Continuously improve fleet utilization to minimize dead head miles.
      13. Coordinate with Maintenance Department to schedule equipment maintenance and repairs.
      14. Ensure trailers and freight are tracked using company’s TMS to service customer needs.
      15. Assist Fleet Manager to book freight and maximize utilization of equipment.
      16. Assist Fleet Manager to broker freight to outside carriers and negotiate rates as necessary.
      17. Assist Fleet Manager to ensure that broker contracts/files are compliant and complete.
      18. Fast paced work environment which requires successful candidate to multitask, be flexible, organized and constantly assess shifting priorities.
      19. Other duties as assigned or directed

      REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. 3+ years of Over the Road driver management experience required
      2. Strong social media skills preferred.
      3. Basic Computer skills: Microsoft Office, E-mail, and Internet based tools
      4. Strong verbal, written, multi-tasking, and communication skills
      5. Ability to work with truck drivers and independent contractor drivers required.
      6. Knowledge of relevant equipment, regulations, policies, procedures, and strategies preferred.
      7. Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road preferred.
      8. Familiar with North American geography and the highway system and relevant points preferred.
