- Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $15.51 for 0 years of experience u00A0 and $21.33u00A0
- Hourly co-teachers earnings are paid out over a 12-month period
- Paid Family Leave: Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on their tenure with the organization and caregiver designation.
- Tuition Reimbursement: Staff members may apply for up to u200B 50% of tuition paid toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year subject to manager discretion and budget availability.
- Employe r -Paid Mental/Behavioral Health : 5 face-to-face counseling sessions within a yea r , unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling , and other work-life services available at no cost.

- Education: At least 48 college hours required or bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
- Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
- Report to the u201Chome-campusu201D daily.
- Report to temporary co-teaching assignments determined by the regional staffing team that are not at the u201Chome-campusu201D
- Participate in matching interviews when there is a permanent co-teaching position available at one of your top 4 site locations.
- Shadow a great teacher or co-teacher on the u201Chome-campus
- Work with a small group of students on the u201Chome-campusu201D
- Substitute for a daily absenceu00A0
- Cover an extended absence/FMLA
- Other instructional duties as assigned by the u201Chome-campusu201D or regional staffing team.
- Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher
- Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
- Successfully implement the assigned curriculum
- Participate in lesson practice and delivery of our assigned curriculum
- Communicate studentsu2019 progress with student and family on a weekly basis
- Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing studentsu2019 character and sense of community in the classroom
- Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all studentsu2019 needs
- Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school wide meetings and functions
- Engage in summer and year-long district, school and personal learning and development
- Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
- Additional responsibilities may include: after-school tutoring or Saturday school and are based on the needs of our scholars

Role Mission: IDEA Flex Co-Teachers are full time, additional para-professional staff hired by IDEA Public Schools with the intent of eventually filling a permanent co-teaching (para-professional) role on a campus when an aligned vacancy arises. This allows IDEA to put a qualified co-teacher into the classroom immediately after a vacancy is determined and minimizes the number of days that students miss out on valuable instruction by a qualified co-teacher.
Once hired by IDEA, our Flex Co-Teachers are assigned to a home-campus to fulfill various educator responsibilities as outlined below. When a permanent co-teaching vacancy arises either at the u201Chome-campusu201D or other campuses in the region, our Flex Co-teachers participate in a matching interview with a campus leadership team for a permanent co-teaching placement. Vacancies may arise before or after the start of school year.u00A0u00A0
All IDEA co-teachers learn instructional strategies and develop their teaching skills in order to provide highly effective instruction to IDEA students. IDEA co-teachers are responsible for student instruction under the guidance of an IDEA teacher.
This is an ESSER III Grant, grant funded position and funding may be extended. A grant-funded position has no guarantee of ongoing and indefinite employment. All duties and responsibilities tied to this position are allowable and allocable to the grant.
